AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW

Updated: Jul 4, 2020

We are all so excited when on a blustery rainy day

We see a rainbow off in the distance

With its luminous spectrum colours glowing

Suspended magically for a little peep at its existence

Unsurprisingly our fondness for it ever growing

Of its splendour laid out across our atmosphere

Curved in the graceful crescent moon shaped arch

Staring upon it incites your childish heart to leap and smile

Pondering wonderously at its creation in a moisture laden sky

Yet were you ever aware or ever even told

When upon the marvel of what you are gazing (seeing)

That each and everyone of us

Never sees it in the exact same way to behold

This is down to science and physics

The fascinating law of refraction and interaction

Each droplet sends you a separate colour

Which modifies on reaching your eyes

Gelling each one into a magnificent artful bow

Which visits us brilliantly but briefly

Then disappears like a genie into the sky's friendly foe

The Subject of fairy tales, songs

Movies and children's TV shows

The legendary undiscovered symbolic

Pot of gold at the tip of its toes

Some believe the reward

Would be the elixir of life

Tasting like honeyed nectered wine

Each sweet sip bringing forth a taste of paradise

Is its perceived gift a divine bestowed sign

Stories of its existence we have conjectured

Through the aeons of time..so we question could even the

The yarns In which it is heralded... they cannot be still true

Yet we love its place among the characters

Bourne out in the myths and tales with a backdrop of sky blue

Of riveting guiding stories old and new

Played out by those who are now spirits of bygone eras

In which storyingtelling was the foundation and knowledge

To their people's who looked to their elders for guidance

To which still modern day listeners still have

Their curious ears feverently glued

We continue with this hope of enlightenment

To the Norwegians and Navaho

It was seen as the bridge between heaven and earth

In Buddism the symbol of peace from long ago

Now so well deserved and aptly consigned

An emblem of our NHS's vocational work's flow

Now embedded in our hearts

As well as inclusivity of diversity

For all to connect and share

Long overdue to rethink and re-dress

So when quickly the rainbow dissipates

Then sadly suddenly for a short while disappears

We do not worry knowing we will see it again

As it perpetuates in nature everlasting phase

So we bid goodbye until the next

Wet and windy day

When the clouds part revealing the bright sun's rays

The again we will see the Rainbow's cheerful wave

I for one see it all as the symbol

Of a harmonious giving peaceful world

A rainbowland of equality without thwarting prejudice

Against all the species of the world and mankind

Finally to rid our collective conscientiousness

Which has keep us in metephorically

In irons gripping clad

Impeding our progression to rejuvenate and revitilise

Our ailing hearts and the planet

Ridding all hinderences to reach the pinnicle

State of existence in which

We are happily thriving over just surviving

Nirvana here on earth so to speak

Where everyone wherever or whoever they are

Would be enabled to have the opportunity

To reach their physical and mental states

In order for their life to be bountiful

Reach its mountain's peak

So lets gather and collectively build a paradise

For all to add and contribute to

The Rainbow's rhetorical pot of shiny gold

Now a possibility the dream could come true

Where we will live without ignorance

A changed new planet for all to peacefully reside

Both physically and in our hearts

Reviving souls and leaving our tortured stress filled minds behind
