FIERY IGNITION

DANCING FLAMES FED BY AIR

FLASH FLARE AND FIGHT TWIST AROUND EACH GLARE

TO SPARKLE THEN BURN THROUGH THEIR LOG LAIR

CRACKLING AND SPARKLING IN A VOICE TO ALL

BEWARE IF YOU STAY HERE FOR TOO LONG

YOUR FRAME IT WILL OVERHEAT

SCARRING SKIN IT COULD DISSOLVE

VOLCANIC RED LAYS BENEATH THE CHARRED REMAINS

TO WARM THE HEARTH BELOW YOUR FEET

MESMERISED TO STARE AT ITS FLOURISHING DISPLAY

MEMORIES EVOKED SCENES PLAYED OUT

IN A BACKDROP OF FIERY GLOW

GRADUALLY THE WOOD CHARS THEN DISAPPEARS

LEAVING GLOWING BLACK EMBERS THE DEVIL'S TEARS

FIRE FOR WARMTH LIGHT TO HEAT FOOD

A TINY PART OF THE SUN SPREAD UPON A GRATE

LAID OUT BEFORE YOU TO MAKE MERRY THE ROOM

WARMING YOUR HEART LIFTING MOOD

LULLED INTO A PEACEFUL MUCH NEEDED SNOOZE

FIERCE AND DANGEROUS THIS ELEMENT

WITHOUT WHICH MANKIND COULD NOT SURVIVE

IT IS THE HONEY THAT WARMS OUR HIVES

A JOY TO HAVE TO GATHER BY SOMETIMES TO REPENT

WHERE STORIES AND SECRETS BELIED AND SHARED

ASSURANCE OF OUR LOVED ONES ALWAYS CARED
