PHANTOM OF THE THEATRE

Updated: Oct 21, 2020

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

THE HIDDEN SOUL OF POIGNANT D'AMOUR

LURKING IN THE THEATRE

CAUSING HAVOC ON THE UNWITTING AND UNDESERVED

YET CHRISTINE APPEARED INSTANTLY THEN REVERED

PHANTOM BECAME A BETWITCHED MOTH

TO AN EVER BURNING ERRANT FLAME

HIS SCARS REPELLANT

WHERE HE ONLY FELT AND SAW SHAME

SO COVERED BY A HALF WHITE MASK

AVERTING UNWANTED GAZES

WHEREBY EYES SEEK AND WANT BEAUTY

YET LOOKS ONLY A FICKLE NOT LONG PLAYED OUT GAME

STILL HE CHARMS AND WINS HER TRUST

THROUGH THE MIRROR SHE IS BEGUILED

INTO A GLIDING BOAT

THE LADY QUICKLY CAPTIVATED AND ENSLAVED HIS MIND

THEIR DESTINY NEVER TO BE ENTWINED

TWO LOST PEOPLE SAILING IN OPPOSITE WAYS

PHANTOM FOUGHT SO GALLIANTLY TO WIN HER

YET VANITY'S UGLY SUPERFICIALNESS

BLINDED HER FICKLE WAYS

THE END WAS NOT PRETTY NOT WAS IT FAIR

YET ALL WHO SEE THIS MAGICAL MYSTERY PLAYED OUT

ARE TOUCHED AND MESMERIZED BEYOND COMPARE

SO PHANTOM LOVERS ONCE AGAIN

WE ARE ALL EXPERIENCING YOUR LONLINESS AND SOLITUDE

VISIT SOON MY PARISIAN THEATRICAL LAIR

WHERE YOUR HEART AND SOUL ITS INTENSITY NEVER SUBDUED

OF LOVE'S SHEER MAGNETISM

YET STILL FOLLY LEADING ALL TO DESPAIR THEN PRAGMATISM

YET OH WHAT A PLETHORA OF EMOTIONAL DELIGHTS

STILL LIE IN WAITING AT THE THEATRE

FOR YOU TO ENJOY ONCE OR MANY TIMES AGAIN

IF YOUR COURAGE ARISES

LETTING YOU DARE TO SEE AND STILL CARE
