Shining spotlight too bright from which to hide
The person beyond the mask we in protection and defence
Let our true souls reside
Navigating through emotional minefield
Dodging and weaving the confusion
Upon which love's arrows can miss the place
So at home and right
To-ing and Fro-ing coming and going
Close then far
Highs and lows
Hello's goodbyes
Sadness reflected in each other's eyes
Blocked then missing and pining
Still chemistry magnetically pulling two people
However reticently reluctant together
Closed hearts know their love they cannot release
A person not free to soar and fly above
To break free from the chains of expectations of others
Passionately longing to be worn as each other
A warm protecting enveloping
Embracing cloak of protection safety and true love
