OBLITERATING LOVE A Longer Sonnet Inspired by the Sonnets of Shakespeare

OBLITERATING LOVE

Humble wounded transgressions In my hammered blunt gored heart Dulling disgrace within blushing shame Esteem haply tallies between bough to bough Flatterer intermixed yet deemed too vile Frailier distractions reign and dwell Constancies scope haply annexed Idolatry forever hosted in motion Burthens disgrace for thriver's to subsist Boast ransoms rallies unimpeached Pomp thralled whence purpose wakened Love tyrant heretic idol Wonderous palate eat potions distilled To sickle my madding thorns Nature scanted pressages altering Divining balmy memories divide

Reproach yet still abuses Defy retentions fitted unbred Score with a scythe heart vessels Truant condemned fined then confined Prophesies muse ever vengeful Divining compass impediments my desire's crests Purple bleaches actions thrice rebuked then razed Urges awakened prefiguring wrinkles Bending further cloying in uncertainties Hallowed as pyramids resemblest satire Now graven grossly motley violet complexion Bending weights ranged like rows of thyme Alack antiquity mend my soul Or be forever lost to obliterating love Copyright Natasha Anne Kelleher July 2022 All Rights Reserved
