SHAKESPEARE'S LEGACY II

Shakespeare's Legacy II What is this magic that Shakespeare wove A master alchemist weaving words in perfect web Speaker and reader rapt entwined Within unescapable realms Linked from centuries ago Yet here permeating lives still His words sonnets and rhymes Uttered during all ages now and past His understanding of morals, ethics  Human tragedies lain out across time So to draw us from evil to the sway of good His words inspired from spiritual ethers For mankind to heed all the secrets laid bare So humanity may yet progress, though it falters still Shakespeare an unreligious prophet Sensibilities set out to halt, violence, corruption, avarice Blind merciless seething ambition That leads to none, then death Devastation of war through metal guns Be reminded that no-one ever shuns or blames goodness For the world and all its plight Shakespeare unremittingly reminding us of The power and sheer force of searing endless light Of the Spirit of God and Man combined, A reminder for those who shun to heed it, will weep in sorrow For they are still faltering and forever blind Copyright Natasha Anne Kelleher 2006
